Site:

OK so you got hacked by the arabs, but for heavens sake can't you defeat an attack from a bunch of goat herders in the middle east. If you can't overcome this hack then you might as well go back to horse and buggies. Come on, get your act together! Call Al Gore maybe he can help you since he was the one who discovered the Internet! All joking aside your site has been down now fo 48 hours if you can't handle this glitch then why would anybody think you could handle their money as well. PLEEEEEESE!

Look I work for BB&T and it is one of the most secure banks in the US. Trust me BB&T will protect its assets to the fullest. We have been in business for 141 years. Can you tell me how long BOA has been in business. Are clients assets are our assets and protecting ourselves and our clients is of upmost importants to us.

The "arab terrorist" angle is likely a ruse; hackers and organized crime syndicates around the world use it as a diversionary tactic to cover a run-of-the-mill attempt to hack into a site, get customer information, etc. to get money. Didn't you see "Die Hard?" (haha)

Well since you work for them...why dont you do us all a favor and find out when we will be able to access the website and SHOW us that we are important instead of sitting on a website bashing another company with a severe lack of gramatical correction. I find it hard to believe you actually work for them.

I agree, though, with others that the best thing to do would be send an immediate email to all those with accounts online updating and giving information. It would be relatively easy to do (they send them out fairly regularly!) and it would do a lot to instill confidence. After all, the entire market is based not on reality (in which assuredly the bank is secure, and so is our money!) but on perception. Nearly two days of silence is hardly comforting. Those who don't live near a BBT branch get worried when they can't get access to their accounts.

exactly! In addition, they are not updating their account information at all. I called and checked my account balance and the last thing processed was on the 16th and I know for a fact I have used my card since then. This has always been an issue with them but now I can't even log in to see what has been processed. You are right! In addition...their is a reasoning behind an outage taking this much time...I think we deserve to know it.

You're right it would have been nice, I just got refused at a gas station, how freakin embarassing, then I got the bright idea to go spend $1.75 at the ATM, which worked. Calling was impossible, and IM's didn't work, and when I got home, their site said nothing. How professional. Like they're ashamed? How would we not know? I said they got hacked right there when my card was refused.

As well, you know it must be more serious than it appears to be down this long, for think of all the fees they lose in a 24-hour period if nobody can access the site? Every wire transfer fee, every deposit, etc. That just adds to the uncertainty among customers, because it's in their best interest to get this back up ASAP. That they've not been able to in this long a period of time is a problem. The only comforting fact is that there is always a paper trail (or an e-trail) for our deposits and information, and it's all insured by the Federal Government. So, at WORST it would just the headache of filling out paperwork. Still, though, they need to be doing more; a bank with $178 billion in assets is hardly "hometown," and so surely has the ability to send out an email.
