i haven't been able to log in in 2 days. i was really starting to love this site, i was on for about a month. this is such bulls!*t, no emails , no nothing. i should sue these f!*#ers

First of all, you can't sue them. This is a free service. Two, OkCupid is based in New York. There was massive flooding due to the hurricane, their data centers are down.

I'm not really going to sue anybody. That was a figure of speech. Why is it that it's down for me, but I have a few friends out here in the Seattle area, and it's not down for them?

They have data centers in different areas. New York being the main one. I'm not sure. But it's down for me and everyone I know in Ontario.

vannah, do you work for okcupid? how do you even know this stuff? it's impossible to even get ahold of them via email or on the phone. so are you just trolling here, or what? how can i trust you? i live in seattle, wa. i signed up over a month ago, i was having a great time on there, filled out my profile, was rockin, answered 1000 questions, was making several good connections with hot women and now.....WHAM.....can't log on in 3 days now, and i've tried from 3 different computers. i've tried to even create new profiles....nope, wouldn't let me.... i mean this is odd. any idea when this will be fixed, i'm pretty pissed as u can tell

No, I don't, but a LOT of data servers (amongst other things) are down due to the horrible flooding in New York.. Honestly, this website is a free service, like Facebook or Youtube. You can't really get angry when it's down. It will be back up whenever they get things fixed. The people employed by OkCupid want it to happen just as badly as you do.

Chris, what are you worried about, with the winning personality and utter lack of intellect you've displayed here you weren't going to get laid on OKCupid anyways. Chill out, lots of people can't get on the site.

OKCupid saying "Sorry, we're having technical difficulties right now. Check back later." can mean one of two things. 1. It is OKCupid's not-so-polite way of telling you that your profile has been deleted. This happened to me. 2. Try another browser. Sounds crazy but I couldn't sign into OkCupid for 4 months because I was using Google Chrome. Signed in on Internet Explorer and everything was fine (until I was deleted).

Both of these options are the only known reasons for OkCupid not allowing people to sign in.

They should, but they do not. I may have been deleted because I tried to change the year on my profile and it kept messing up, so after changing it 4 times I think they may have deleted me for thinking I was lying about my age. Sigh Either way, they apparently don't tell people when you are deleted. I guess they can do whatever they want, it is a free service.

Yeah, apparently that's what happens. I think it actually is supposed to tell you but their website is glitched or something. But generally they only delete people for actually breaching their rules/terms of service. If you did do nothing wrong and haven't signed in for awhile, I truly suggest trying a different browser. Try signing in on your or a friends' mobile phone, and if that doesn't work try Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome or Opera. It only let me sign in when using IE.
