Xbox 360 won't connect. All other apps work fine so I know I'm connected to the internet. Netflix works fine on my computer.

Nate on
I've had the exact same problem for the past 4 days, and after numerous calls to both Netflix and Microsoft, i finally got someone from the Microsoft support team to help...they had me go into my DNS settings on the console, switch it from automatic to manual, and use the DNS server numbers as follows: for the primary address, use 4.2.2.1 and for the secondary address use 4.2.2.2....did that, saved them, restarted my console, and now Netflix works. Hopefully this helps!!

Thank you so much it worked right after I did that.

Nice. Microsoft and Netflix could learn a thing or two from you.  Oh yeah btw, Microsoft customer service is absolutely horrible and Microsoft should be ashamed.

ambet on

I feel dumb but how do I get to dns settings

Chris Baker on

none of that stuff to work for me, but what I did do is clear my system cache uninstall Netflix app and reinstall it and it worked. Nonetheless it was still better to come here to trouble shoot then to call customer service for either Xbox 360 or Netflix.

Thank you so much!! It worked right after I switched to manual and plugged in these #s. We worked 3 hours trying to connect Netflix.

Cole on

I love you

THANKS, Nate!! After forwarding all my ports, and still no luck, this fix worked for me.
Brendon on
Thanks guys, just plugged those numbers in too, worked for me as well.

Had this problem ever since the update. Plugging those manual DNS addresses worked. Thanks.

Thanks i had the same problem and it works........

Dude! After 3 hrs of BS phone conversations with Netflix and Microsoft, you have finally provided me with the solution to this error code. Thank you so much!!! Still pissed at the fact that Netflix acted as if they were clueless about this error code, and that two Microsoft techs couldn't help me. Thanks also to sitedown for this forum.
Derrick S. on
Well, I'll be damned. I really wish I would've known the solution was that simple a week ago. Phone calls to Netflix & Xbox proved to be utterly useless. Thanks for the solution, Netflix is working just fine, now.
Ryan Heath on
Thank you so much, it worked. Every once and a while I would get messages that said that this service is unavailable right now, and thanks to this I don't get that anymore
bob on

This works, but I can't get American Netflix using this. Any ideas?

Sean on

Nate you are the man!! After tedious waits to speak with support with xbox and netflix, I FINALLY get the right solution! EVERY call consisted of "Clear cache, delete netflix, download again, and retry". EAch and every time same result. Tell the support rep he needs a raise. Meanwhile ive wasted 8 bucks every month for 3 months.

Trust me, you werent missing much. Not like they ever add good new content anyway..

kim on
Go to system settings > network settings > pick your network > configure network > and the go to the bottom where it says DONE all that if youre on the 360
Amanda on

Ahhhh! Thank you so much the fix Nate! You saved my rainy night in :)

Charlotte on

Thank you so much, it actually helped

willis on

My netflix did this and thanks to you my stuff was only down for maybe 2 minutes.thanks again.saved me lots of wasted time  on the phone with people who barely speak english

Rick on

Thank you Nate and Kim. With your answers I was up and running in minutes. The hardest part was using the controller to enter 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 I just wish I looked this up Fri and not Sun.

Ive tried deleting and doing the cache and resins talking. I went from my previously working fine DNS settings 8.8.8.8 to auto and then tried these settings and it still just starts at the read screen and has the red loading circle. It will go forever unless I stop it. Only rarely I get an error code. only thing I haven't tried is straight wiring to the modem. My xbox one connects wireless and plays netflix fine but my 360 has stopped working all of a sudden.

Gabrielle marks on

Omg thank you so much! I was getting so frustrated. My internet was working and all my other apps were working so I didn't understand why I was getting that code. I googled it, came across this, plugged the numbers in, restarted my 360 and boom netflix worked instantly. I'm so excited. Thank you again!!

Dianna on

Doesn't work for me :'(

Brad on

If that didn't work for you try 8.8.8.8 in primary and 8.8.4.4 in the secondary. This one works for me.
