I stayed on hold long enough for a USPS customer service representative to answer, and he sounds very harried and near the end of his rope. But he stated directly to me that the USPS online shipping site is not working and that the USPS is working on the problems and trying to fix the site right now, 1056 am Pacific Time. At least they are finally acknowledging what all of us already know... The site is the problem, and no browser versions will work with it at this time until the USPS gets its online act together.

USPS Customer Service acknowledges that the site is out of order for online shipping, and that they are working on the problem right now 1112 am Pacific Time. The customer service rep I spoke to on the phone (after the usual epic wait on hold) has no idea whatsoever when they expect to have the site working again. He suggested that I simply take my packages to the post office if I needed to get them shipped today.
