Electronic Correspondence Registration Link Not Working

Mon, 04/13/2020 - 2:47pm - Anonymous

When signing up to receive unemployment benefits, the email verification link "Select to Complete Electronic Correspondence Registration" I get message can't connect securely to this page - this might be because the site uses outdated or unsafe TLS security settings. I have tried both Google Chrome and MS Edge Interent browsers

my wife had the same issue, I played around with it for a bit and figured it out. When you click the link you get this opening up in a new tab, the X's is her token number so I removed it, but yours will look the same except the X's.

https://apps.twc.state.tx.us:80/UBS/corres/correslogon.do?token=XXXXXXXXXXX

right after tx.us: is the 80, change it to 443

https://apps.twc.state.tx.us:443/UBS/corres/correslogon.do?token=

that changes it to a secure connection and allows the confirmation to completed.

only change the 80 to 443, everything else stays the same.

Great job Joe!

I reported through in house form yesterday to IT folks at WFC. I was getting same error message for 2 days. Finally worked this morning. Here is what I did. Log on to Work Force Commision. Request new email verification email from them. Log off. When email from WFC arrives click on link to verify email address. Will take you to the WFC log in screen. Log in, again. You should get a congratulations you have verified your email address. Thats it. Yea.

Thanks so much Joe!  This helped me as well!

The solution is to replace 80 with 443 - but you have to use it on the latest email correspondence confirmation link (i.e. if you requested multiple email confirmations like I did, use the latest one they sent).

For example, if this is the URL being opened when you click the link:

https://apps.twc.state.tx.us:80/UBS/corres/correslogon.do?token=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Modify the URL to be:

https://apps.twc.state.tx.us:443/UBS/corres/correslogon.do?token=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Then hit enter.  It should say you have successfully confirmed if it worked.

If it brings you back to login page then it did not work.  In that case, do this:

1. In the latest "electronic correspondence confirmation" email, DO NOT left click the link, but instead right click on it and left click "copy as link".

2. Paste the copied link/URL to notepad and edit the link/URL in notepad: replacing 80 with 443

3. Copy the edited link/URL (the one where you replaced 80 with 443)

4. Open a new internet browser tab (I used Google chrome and it worked there) and past the URL above (that you just copied), then hit enter.  It should work and say you have succesfully confirmed your email.

Hope this helps.
