When I click on any picture it doesn't send me to the original link. It gives me the error page. All when I try to repin something it says"pinning" but it never goes through. This has been happening for the past 2 weeks.
Laura on
I have successfully posted pins from my own photos in the past, but for at least two weeks I have been unable to do so. I have tried downloading photos from my computer files, including Dropbox, and also from my phone, but every source leads me to the same error message: 503 which is apparently "no date received". I am not doing anything differently than I have in the past. What's the problem please?
Paula Boeira on

I'm with the same mistake! :(

Marina on

Hi Laura. Do you recieved some answer? Please tell me. I have the same problem and pinterest dont reply me. Thank you

Sandy Jo Thompson on

I am having the same problem with my own photos.

Marian on

I have tried to pin some video clips from my iPad to one of my boards. The clips seem to go through the compression all ok and then looks to have loaded as it goes to 100% on the load but then I get the error 503 message. I have tried with different length clips but all the same. Othepep lope have clips on their boards so just wondering what is possibly going wrong here and what should I do. Thank you for any help.

XHR returned response code 503

I can't upload pictures either!

Charles Smith on

I have the same problem. I have the copyright to the photo as I took them myself. I converted the photo to a JPEG so it would not be too large. But every time I try to pin my own photo XHR returned response code 503 is returned. Pity there appears to be nobody who has any connection with Pinterest who can explain a work around. Reading some of the other posts it seems if I tried to upload the same photo but from a different location the same problem would occur.

Christie on

Same problem - tried to upload a slideshow in multiple file formats (.mov, .pdf, .jpg) - none are working. All giving me "XHR returned response code 503"

Laia on

Hello? Is anybody from Pinterest out there??? Could anybody tell us if you are working on solve this problem? I have the same problem, when I upload a photo it appears XHR returned response code 503.

Russ on

Just want to second everyone else here, cannot upload pics from our computer! 503 error message every time...

Laurence on

I have the same problem i own the pictures from my website www.battlerope.co.uk if anyone finds out why this is could you please help? is there anyone from the pintrest team as i am new to the site

thanks

Alison on

Hey guys after having the same problems as you all I managed to figure this one out. I resized my pictures to 72dpi and made sure they were 30 inches on the longest size Jpeg. Also found that Pinterest doesn't like Tiffs but Jpegs work just fine. Hope this helps you all out.

Janimal on

Yep, reducing the size of the image did the trick. Thanks much for the tip, Alison!

Lisa Derry on

I have been uploading pics for a long time now with no problem but as above i just can not use it at all and no photos will load -HELP ANYONE OUT THERE WHO WORK FOR PINTEREST -IS THIS PROBLEM GOING TO BE FIXED SO WE CAN USE THE WEBSITE PROPERLY?

Cathy on

It really seems to be the file size!? Just had the same problem (after it has always been working perfectly until yesterday) and I used IrfanView to size the picture down - and it worked!

Larry Bear on

Why all of a sudden is what I find peculiar and the fact that's it's happening to other users simultaneously suggests to me that this is a problem with Pinterest's server- I bet they're filling up all available drives faster than they can handle!!:(

Carolyn on

Have been reaching same 503 error code for last 3 days...was working perfectly well before.

lloydchen8@hotm... on

keep getting XHR Returned Response Code 503 for 1/3 of the photos I took and uploaded.  Why?  What's the issue and how do I solve this problem. Thanks.

megan on

Had the same issues. Resized my photos to something smaller and the problem went away.

Bruce Wendelken on

what is xhr returned response code 503?

Gripps on

Same problem with error. I only started to use the site a few weeks ago, this happens a lot. The site is too buggy for me, no longer interested using Pintrest, good luck all.

Sherry on

Well, when it is June and the "glitch" for error 503 is still happening.

Sherry on

Well, it is June and the "glitch" with error 503 is still going strong?

Mike Whittick on

I only get the XHR returned response code 503 error if uploading from computer, but can pin direct from my website.

Dave Crocker on

I have been getting 503 error too.

i take my pics as RAW images. Can't upload from IMac or IPad

are my Raw files just too big? I have posted them in the past.

I don't see the point of posting my Colorado flower and ghost town pics in low res.

and I have thousands of them. So I'm not really interested in dumbing them down.  It would take ages.

Does anyone have any advise?

Anne on

Same problem. Please help!

Peter HW on

Same Issue, What's going on?

Jane Mitchell on

Does Pinterest have any support staff? I can't pin my pix, Obviously LOTS of people can't. Same error message 503, ugh!

Judith Sullivan on

I've been pinning my pictures for 3 years without a promlem until a 2 weeks ago.  I received a this response from pinterest after 2 help requests: Due to the number of email requests we receive, we can't always provide personalized support for board problems, but we’ll do our best to answer common questions about boards here.  Of course no answer on the help board.

Hannah K. Photo... on

Hey everyone!

I've had the same issue and had a play around with resizing and such to try and fix the problem. I've now found a solution!

Format your image to JPEG.

Change your image resolution to 72ppi (pixels per inch)

Resize your image to 20x20 inches

This has worked so far for me and also makes the upload to Pinterest much much quicker!

Good luck!

Mika on

I resized my images like you suggested to 72 ppi, and it WORKED!  The image quality did not really suffer, and the downloading process was very fast.  My image SIZE was too large then, and so was everyone else's.

John on

response error code 503 any suggestions? Updated Pinterest software not helping

Lisa on

If re-sizing is the only fix, this is BS.  I've uploaded the same types of pics from day 1 and didn't have a problem until the Pinterest update after IOS8.  Someone please tell me there's another fix ... otherwise I know A LOT of people who will be leaving Pinterest.

Kelly on

Same here. No problem till this update. Seriously?

Emmie on

I downloaded the new Apple software as well and since then I can't pin any pics to Pinterest.

Several of my students are receiving htis error message with Pinterest now. We hzave tried resizing but that has not helped. Please let me know what else we need to do so that students can upload their imahes to pinterest.

thanks

wade

Sarah on

I run a photography business and I second sizing that far down simply isnt ideal. I was having zero problems until today when I tried to upload a tutorial image.

Image has already been converted to JPEG so having to lower the DPI and such is a bit ridiculous.

Robin S on

>>>>>>>   FIX!!   <<<<<<<
(Well at least it works for me).
Whenever you click the "add pin" icon and the window comes up with all your file names, once you click on the file name you want and it pops up in the window, click behind the file name and manually add the extention type.  For instance if your image is named snow and it's a jpeg, type in .jpg behind "snow" (your file name) before you click the "Open" butten to upload it to Pinterest.
It took me forever to figure this one out but at least now it's working.  I would love to hear if this worked for you and I hope I explained it clear enough.  :)

prem on

i followed you, but it didn't works.

Joe on

An easier fix rather than resizing your pics is to delete your cookies - in Internet Explorer, press Ctrl-Shift-Del or Tools>Delete Broswing History then click on the Cookies and website data check box. Ensure you have the Preserve favourites website data checkbox checked or you will be in trouble.... then try again!

ZOE LISA WHITAKER on

Same problem uploading videos any solutions?  Thanks

Joe on

Yeah, pinterest doesn't give a damn about its slave labor.

OmarSA on

XHR returned response code 503

why i cant upload any picture

I am sick of Pinterest.

Mika on

I resized the images to a smaller format, and want from PNG to JPEG.  That was all I needed to do, and it worked just fine.  The transfer took only a seconds,  instead of half an hour.

Jason Hein on

I have been having the same issue. I resized my photos and eventually, once they were small enough, they would upload. I don't know if that is the ONLY issue with this error but try re-sizing them to a smaller size. Go down progresively until they will upload to pinterest.

UCANBEASURVIVOR on

Also receiving XHR returned response code 503 and happening more than less

Ray on

Why am I getting "503 response code" when I try to load a http ??????????

LDN on

I find myself having the same problem this afternoon.  There is a twist, though:  I can create a pin that is a news item, but I cannot create a pin for favorite items from retail sources.
