I'm trying to watch netflix via ps3 and it won't load past the red screen. Just looks like it's loading forever!!!

I had the same issue, but removed and reinstalled app which caused an update to prompt. It fixed the issue for me. Not sure why the system wasn't prompting me for the update, but I think that might have been the issue.
