They are blocking all Non-US IP addresses. :-/ I cannot get there from my home in Spain, but when I use a US proxy server, it all works fine. Why not just put up a sign that says, "customers, go away!"

I got this reply from HSBC this morning: Subject: Re: Online Banking Question Date: 05/03/2013 Dear [customer name] Thank you for contacting HSBC Bank USA, N.A. Due to the unsecured nature of the Internet, connections from an I.P. Address outside the United States are now automatically blocked by the system as they are considered as fraudulent. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you wish to access your HSBC account online from Spain, you may directly contact our Fraud Prevention Department collect at 716-841-7755 to inform them you are assessing the account from Spain and to request them not to block your Personal Internet Banking Service. Please be assured that we will accept the charges for the collect call. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. For additional information on the products and services HSBC Bank offers, please visit us at HSBCPREMIERUSA.com Our Premier Customer Relationship Center is always available, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to meet all of your banking needs. You may contact one of our professionals via our secured 'BankMail' option available while you are logged into your Personal Internet Banking or Mobile Banking services. Sincerely, Customer Relationship Center Premier Banking Specialist

Thanks Joshua. Seriously... this is a "leading global bank"?? What a crock. They're down like this regularly. Unfortunately, I have to make int'l transfers frequently for my line of work and their utility for doing this via IB is actually pretty good... but it ain't worth s*** if they won't let you access it! This latest episode has prompted me to finally sign up with XeTrade... hope they work out so I can jettison this banking behemoth!
