can't stay logged in using the desktop software

approx 5 seconds after logging in, you get kicked off. I can access my email through aol.com. On their website they state:Alert: Some users in the Northeast may be experiencing issues connecting using the AOL Desktop software. We apologize. We have our best people working hard to fix it as quickly as possible! However, its been hours and it's still not fixed
