I waited on hold for 1 hour 10 minutes on the technical support line 800-344-7779 (press 1, then 4).  An operator answered, I explained problem and she said she would send a request to the tech support team. I received an email a few hours later stating the account error was resolved.

The USPS continues to prove they are incredibly inept. They still won't fix this problem.
