I am having the same issue....The first time I thought it was the terminal, then I tried an ATM and same issue transaction declined....now the same has happened to my son....and my husband.  We can't access funds to pay for anything, and the wait time to speak with somebody is over 60 min....RIDICULOUS!!  I have been a SUNTRUST  customer for decades, but this merger is grabage...if issues do not get resolved it will be time to look somehere else for banking....
