I can't either. Using Outlook 2010, no changes to configuration. I can receive (mail.comcast.net) but can't send (smtp.comcast.net). Oddly enough my Android phone can send and receive with the same hosts and so can my wife's Outlook from the same internal network as mine.

I have the same problems! Receive OK, Send denies me entry permission. This is going on now for a week and I'm pretty well fed up with comcast! I hope they are happy with the new security protocol and I bet they are the only ones who are!

Comcast disabled outgoing mail over standard SMTP port 25. You need to use 465 now. Most phones set up correctly and my wife's setup was newer than mine and already had the correct port. http://customer.comcast.com/help-and-support/internet/email-client-programs-with-xfinity-email/

Gary- Thanks for the info. I changed the port to 465 but I it didn't help. I think it'is probably because I contacted comcast for help twice and, after they were finished changing a lot of set up stuff, my set up is screwed up and I can't get it back to where it was... When I contacted them a third time, they advised me to use comcast internet for email. I did that and find it unacceptable.
