Comcast said to factory wipe Chromebook

My mom called customer service when she couldn't log in and that is what they told her. Then they said Chrome is incompatible with Comcast. After using it for a year...Then they said she had to use Internet Explorer. What a company. Never once did they tell her it is their problem and not hers!

Hate to say it as much as I despise Comcast but this issue is most likely due to Chrome Browser Updates/Changes, since Comcast email access is not a problem using Int Exp or Firefox. Google screwed up Chrome w/a recent update, causing a major issue in keeping your home page as you want it, for one thing. This access to email is probably an extention of that recent Chrome update issue(s).

Ahh. Could well be. I haven't noticed a problem with my homepage, but you could be right. Although another commenter said using Internet Explorer didn't help them. Well who knows. I still hate Comcast. If you're right why doesn't Comcast tell people as much? Instead of saying, "Wipe your computer" and giving no reason for it. Hate them. Funny how I still like Google even if it was their mess up...

Unfortunately Google has become a twin to Comcast in some respects, so don't get too happy about them going forward. Comcast has NEVER been forthright in responding to customers needs, I spent many many years living in the Philly area where they are based and Comcast can be a miror image at times to the "You're On Your Own" attitude that's prevalent in that region. They just don't give a crap about anything but collecting your $$. With Google relying on online ads for income and not from supplying a service firsthand like Comcast does, they are a liitle more distant from the end consumer. The general direction we've been heading for some time now is Big $$ wins, the consumer loses. Case closed.

I know you're right about Google. Somehow their public persona, however, is more pleasant than Comcast's. At least Google appears friendly, techy, nerdy...Comcast doesn't even make the effort to pretend to give a damn. Comcast has such a monopoly in the town where my mom lives, it's pathetic. Yeah, no mistake, Google is big business as usual, no doubt. But on the other hand their free products have been real good to me and my business. Can't say the same for Comcast. Fortunately in my town we have other options to Comcast.
