Chris on
haven't been able to access bellsouth.net email on my phone for over a month. Now i can't even access them from home. Keeps asking for my password when I know it's correct.

Both my wife and I have bellsouth.net accounts and now they don't work on our android phones nor through Outlook on our various computers.

Same issue. Stopped working today. Both bellsouth.net accounts keep asking for password. They appear to work sporadically.

Also...seems to only be a problem receiving. Sending still seems to work.

David, I haven't tried to send via our phones while getting the error message, but Outlook won't connect at all. I just tried to test sending on my phone, but at the moment (of course) my bellsouth.net account is working correctly. That's how I knew to respond to your post. Last night, I setup both of our bellsouth accounts to forward to our gmail accounts so that we will continue to get our email despite the AT&T / Yahoo! mess. This has worked without any problems. We've been getting forwarded mail without disruption via gmail while the bellsouth.net accounts are down. This tells me that the issue is with the log-in, recognition process. I hope they get this fixed soon.

Mike...thanks that is helpful. I will try to keep my posts updated as things change, but my guess is you are correct and once it is fixed it will be for everyone. These are actually my wife's accounts that I have been trying to fix. The biggest issue was the auto send/receive. I had to turn that off because it was popping up every minute. Like I said, it seems to work sporadically as an email I sent her this morning came through. She does have a gmail account also so I maybe I will try that. Thanks

Just an update... I finally logged in to the AT&T/Yahoo online email (usually never login here...always just through Outlook). It brought up a link to update the mail software, which just took a couple of seconds. After that the accounts started working fine again.
