using win 7 and thunderbird - can't get email to send - allows log in and then just hangs, shortly thereafter times out. has been this way since at least 3 am eastern us time. not the first time outgoing service has tanked. What gives? called help phone number and was on hold 20 minutes. just hung up and transferred the needed outbound messages to other service provider email.

Here's the email received based on the trouble report submitted :
Thank you for submitting a ticket online, Hardware issue(s) affecting e-mail has been resolved. We may still get some of the aftermath from customers, but overall, systems are currently stable, If you have any questions and for further assistance please call us anytime at 1-800-727-2222 opt 3, 1."However, the 'hardware' issues apparently are NOT resolved as we still can't sent anything outbound, 4 hours after filing a report and being told by phone rep that there were "no issues." So they closed a ticket that clearly was NOT resolved. Speaking with a supervisor at the help desk in Manila (?) during which time I pointed out the problem was not fixed, her replies were not promising as the ATT issues clearly are on-going, having been severe over a long period of time. Don't know why they can't hunker down and focus on a fix. Not sure what we as customers can do to resolve these issues except move to other service providers!
