Error message moving and deleting emails

I  am able to log in, however emails keep returning to inbox as "new mail." When attempting to delete agaon, error message states that message wasn't able to be deleted. Please fix ASAP.  This is draining my phone battery because it continues to pull in what the server thinks are new emails!
