NOT receiving emails for mobile

Suddenly today all of my Comcast email on an iPhone 6plus have dissappeared.  I am still receiving them on my iPad and on an iMac.

I shut off the phone and rebooted, but after about a minute get the following message: Cannot Get Mail.  The mail server imap.comcast.net is not responding.  Verify that you have entered the correct accounat info in Mail settings."   I have verified the information is correct and it has been working until this afternoon.   Why would all previous messages and also all my accounts dissappear?

yes, the same happened to my iPhone 5 and it still doesn't work.
