Email down--don't bother trying Chat--it's fake

Wanted to at least get an idea via Chat as to whether I should go to bed or is it going to be fixed tonight--message displayed showing I was 40th in queue. When it got down to 1 and a chat window opened up, got this message when I hit the Send button:

You are not connected to an analyst. You cannot send a message now.
