e-mail down for 2 days

Today (2/9/16) about 20 or motre emails from my INBOX suddenly vanished. Called Comcast and spoke to two tech support people. Second person specializing in email stated that Comcast had updated server and truthfully it caused loss of emails. Was told engineers working on it and missing emails should eventually start coming back. Time will tell. Never happened before and they also dissapeared from "Thunderbird" email, which is very unusual as when I delete from Smartzone on Comcast it never deletes them on Thunderbird email client. But they also dissapeared on tablet.
