cannot access att.net mail page on internet;connected 1 time-- site acted like it was on verge of crashing--could not reset how email messages are viewed.

Have had trouble off and on connecting with att.net since going with uverse. Can anyone tell me what is the problem? I have had two people hang up on me when I have told them they did not help. So frustrated.
