Seller Central is down for maintenance. Makes no sense to me that it should be down in the mid-morning on a Tuesday. Seems like something that should be done on a Saturday night/Sunday morning...unless the Zombie apocalypse has begun. Into the bunker!
After calling seller central support I was advised the site could be down for up to 24 hours or more. The site had been attacked and info was lost.
I asked if it would affect seller ratings etc. They stated all stats ratings and sales would be frozen.
Kind of scary that people's info.was stolen or lost.
Making me rethink leaving eBay fully.

Amazon brutally punishes us sellers if we get one customer complaint or late order, and they do this BS with the site down? Sounds fishy. They should not count the downtime neatievly on our seller metrics. They should compensate money for sellers inconvenience.

I actually did receive one of these emails about two or three days ago, so I am very concerned. I unfortunately have already deleted the email. If it was a spoofing attempt, it was a really good one, and I hate to admit that I fell for it.
I just got off the phone with Amazon. They are still not able to provide an estimate for when the service will return to normal functionality. If you are having issues, call them asap, and they will forward you an email once SellerCentral is back up again. Also, be sure to talk to them about negative feedback for late outgoing orders during this period of time. I was promised that any negative feedback regarding order delays would be removed from my account. In the meantime, our products are still available on our independent website at http://www.TheOtherSideVapes.com

According to Seller Support this is not scheduled maintenance.
"Our website is currently unavailable while we make some improvements to our service. We'll be open for business again soon, please come back shortly to try again. Thank you for your patience."
Their message insinuates that this was planned, which it clearly was not.
This would make a nice front page article on the Washington Post. Did anyone call them and tell the reporters whose duty it is to report the news in an unaltered and honest fashion? Even though Jeff Bezos now owns the Washington Post wouldn't the headline "Online Retail Giant Amazon.com Merchants' Access Website Goes Down for Hours During Washington Post Sale?"

At least email all merchants and tell them that there is an unidentified problem and you're working hard to fix it, we're used to things not working correctly anyway.
The buyer experience is certainly sucking right now, after all that is the biggest concern. If it was a concern wouldn't they communicate the issue throughout the Amazon.com website where necessary by letting buyers know that they are experiencing some technical issues that may affect sellers abilities to communicate with them?
