Dial *611 get put into infinite loop

I dialed the main Verizon number to ask a question about my phone data usage that seemed excessive and could not get throng.  Every time I would press Zero to speak to someone it would replay the same message over and over about the unusual long hold time and ask me to press Zero again. ..
