SMTP server errors when trying to send out mail from my yahoo pop mail

I use Thunderbird to get my yahoo email. I cannot send anything out. I get some weird error about not being able to copy the message to the "Sent" folder. I can, however send email out from my comcast email account which I never use. I also do not seem to be getting email anymore though I got a message from someone this morning (02-07-2014) at 9:09 am
