I couldn't log into my email today.

I couldn't log into my email today. I was online with a chat operator. It/They said that my user id didn't exist. I was able to send an email to my account using another email account through my work. I was able to see on my IPhone that it was received.
What happened????? I couldn't get on from 5:30 until 7:00 A.M. I was able to get back on until tonight. It works now.
