inbound email not working

I can send email from the web version of Comcast.net but it isn't receiving email quickly. It took 6 minutes for a short test message to show up in the IN box when sending from a different email system. Sending from within Comcast still took a minute to show up. I'm working with a neighbor who's having significant problems including forwarding email to a group.
