sign in page causes IE to close, and Chrome says silver light plug in crashes

Every time I go to sign in on half.com or ebay.com, the page loads and then instantly "Internet Explorer has stopped working" and it tries again then says it's going to stop trying to avoid an endless loop.
Chrome also has issues with it, so it's not just IE. Chrome says that the Silverlight plugin crashed, but I have the updated version, and every other site I've tried has been fine. Even sign in screens.
