Hello Again -- Well last nite, after 2 days of trying, my e-mail problems with Comcast seened to be fixed. I carefully followed the steps that "Bruce W" and "Steve_Baker" provided on a related thread, and for a while everything worked fine. Then my outgoing mail port would not "foward" mail, particularly if it had anything more than simple texted (e.g. a link included, a "visual" e-mail I had received (e.g. and invitation) etc.). Now, I can't even forward simple messages.
The error message that I get reads as follows:
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.
The rejected e-mail address was '@comcast.net'. Subject 'Fw: Fun video from KLM', Account: 'e-mail', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.1.0 Authentication required', Port: 465, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC78
So, I need help again, particularly with authentication related to outgoing or forwarded messages. Thanks. David Abelson
