Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender- incoming mail bounced for 3 days

"Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender" message filled my incoming mail box from Mar 7-9 (so far). But these are indicating errors on attempts to deliver incoming mail to two (2) of my 'bellsouth.net' email addresses but not two (2) others?!?
