unable to load or send email

I tried using the web-based email in Firefox, which is how i typically access it, as well as in IE, but in neither place am I able to load email. I got one email to send, but need to send others and they will not send. There error message tells me the connection is lost, but my Uverse is working fine and I can surf the web with no problems. I can get email on my phone, but not on the web. I need to send email from the website and am unable to do that.
