cannot access email. 'user ID or password does not match'

when attempting to log in to ATT.net email, red letter alert comes up saying "The User ID and password combination you entered doesn't match any entries in our files." I don't want to reset the password because I'm afraid I'll never get in! I see many others are reporting the same thing now. Glad I didn't try to reset password. Hoping it will get resolved. Please??
