Can't access Netflix on Apple TV during Notre Dame blowout game

I was watching a TV show on Netflix 8:15PM CST Jan 7th and all of sudden the streaming stopped and displayed couldn't access Netflix. This happened until around midnight. I was able to get around the system by loading Netflix though my iPad and sending it to the TV via AirPlay and finished watching my shows. The time frame correlates with approximately when the Notre Dame/Alabama championship game occured and I read in ESPN that once the game was a blowout, people probably got bored and started watching other TV...in this case possibly overwhelming Netflix. I'm not sure why I couldn't access Netflix on my Apple TV but was able to still gain access via iPad App.
