email goes down everynight about 5PM MDT

Email goes down everynight (been going on for three days). It comes back up sometime during the night, so I can usually use email during the day. I have talked with Tier 2 support and they have said that Comcast Tier3 is migrating servers (they are dropping POP3) and that service will be sketchy thru Mid November. But they really don't know how long.
I've tried to find someone that can tell me why we (customer's) were not informed before this started and was told "I don't know".
