If you are dissatified with Comcast, call Comcast Customer Service and ask to speak with a 'Retention Specialist'.

Don't talk with a regular Customer Service rep; don't waste time with a regular Billiing Dept. rep.A Retention Specialist has the power and ability to renegotiate a lower bill for you and give you a credit for the hassles you've dealt with.

Tell the 'Retention Specialist' that you've found a cheaper, better local provider. Research another or a few other local internet/cable providers and mention them by name.  Tell the 'Retention Specialist' that you are going to drop Comcast unless they can make you happy.

Let the 'Retention Specialist' make you an offer.  They will probably say something about checking for a better comcast offer for your area and then quote you a lower rate.  Don't let them upsell you any other services; tell them you want the exact same thing you have now but cheaper.  Tell them you don't want any decrease in service for the lower rate.  'Retention Specialists' are paid to keep you from quitting Comcast.  They will make you some better offer, after you push for it.  They will offer you some credit, after you complain about the regular outsourced Customer Service and after you complain about outages and poor service and lack of troubleshooting from regular reps.

It will probably be a long phone call but it will be worth the time. They'll give you a 12-month plan that's cheaper.  Just call back every 12 months, when they raise the bill again, and do the same thing with another 'Retention Specialist'.  You should save $10 to $20 bucks a month, which is a decent savings over the course of the year.

Again, don't let them upsell you any new services; tell them you only want what you already have and you want it cheaper, or else you are going to quit Comcast and get a new provider.
