Revised site is rejecting passwords but claiming to be down

After more than a day of error messages (claiming "delays") when trying to log in, I finally called the number on the back of my card. I was passed off to an IT person who explained that the revised site has some unannounced restrictions on passwords. If you set your password to something it doesn't like, it accepts it but then won't let you log in with it. She agreed that it was strange. She recommended resetting my password, so we did that and she stayed on the line while I set up a new password that satisfies the new rules. After that, I had no difficulty logging in. I recommend that anyone having this problem should call the number on the back of the card. Once they see the number of technical support calls, they may realize that this is a very bad design.
