I can access the e-mail folders, but can not open any messages to read them.

Same here. To read the emails, you can go to the settings menu and switch back to the Basic version. (It actually took 2 tries for the Basic to show, but now I can read my emails.) Then, once they fix the problem, you can switch back to the new Yahoo.
