phone calls getting disconnected

Can make phone calls, but my Verizon Wireless network calls end up dropping at times while ringing other phone number, moments after speaking to person I'm calling, and in a few cases, a minute or two into the phone conversation.  This is suddenly occuring to calls this evening whether inbound or outbound.  I have a Moto Droid Turbo.  The signal on phone appears extremely weak, such as one bar.  More interestingly though, I am seeing only 1G appearing on phone, as opposed to the normal 4G here in my house in the Orlando Florida area.  Curiously, I decided to turn off my wifi and suddenly the 4G turned on and I was able to finally make one long term phone call (to Delta) which did not get disconnected.
