same thing happened to me.. i had a special character in the "company name" field (@) once i took it out it worked.
Adam, thank you so much - this was driving me crazy and I was running out of time to make the post office. I erased the ! in the Company Name I was mailing to and it worked. Much appreciated.
no problem!!! glad this helped someone! USPS really needs to at very least have the error say it doesn't allow special charracters
