Twitter won't load - misc errors

Although pinging, tracerouting & port scanning Twitter shows its accessible and open, when I try to open the home page I get the following errors:

Error 7 (net::ERR_TIMED_OUT): The operation timed out.

Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): The connection was reset.

Error 352 (net::ERR_SPDY_PING_FAILED): Unknown error.

Attempting to access Twitter through Tweetdeck gives me the error "Network error, could not send.  As usual Twitter's status page says nothing is amiss. http://status.twitter.com/

However, accessing Twitter through my Android app shows I can tweet, the posts I see in my timeline are from hours ago.
