Site: Sun Trust --I have not been able to sign on to Sun Trust from my desk top off and on for several weeks. Was told by customer service my IP address is being blocked. Cust. Serice claims I have a virus on my desk top computer but my virus scans come back negative. i can log on thru my lap top.
I do not know whatis going on with my personal checking acct. I can not log in to my acct

It is VERY hard to log on to my account, and when I finally do, it won't let me pay bills!!!
Their site is always broken, and the last time that this happened, I logged in through a work VPN, managed to get onto their site, and they BANNED my user account. I spent 20 minutes on the phone, they were not able to "validate" me because they had the wrong phone number for me in their system. So I had to drive for 30 minutes to a branch that was open, and we called the SAME number and had to wait another 20 minutes. They unbanned my account, and I was able to access it. I think that these amateurs have a broken firewall or something since you actually could log in from another connection albeit you would be banned quickly afterward.
Here's the error message that I normally get in Chrome. The Firefox message is similar. As soon as you click the login button, this appears with no delay.

I face the same issue. And they told the account has no restriction or issue. It should work normally. I tried explorer , chrome , mobile/computer, wifi/4G. ..sso.suntrust.com can not be reached.

Cannot access personal banking from home on my laptop or ipad. SunTrust has given me a pile of excuses including "someone is trying to get into your ip address so your ip address is blocked." The ip address they are blocking is the Shentel ip address for the internet and not my devices. The "person" trying to get into my account from this ip address is ME. They are using every excuse possible to avoid just saying SunTrust screwed up the upgrade and can't fix it. Four times they have told me they unlocked it and it would take 24 hours for me to get my online banking informatio n. That gets rid of the customer for 24 hours and when the customer calls back they get another person that gives me another big story. One told me to clean out my cookies because I had to many. Totally incompetant people and SunTrust needs a class action suit for blocking customers from their accounts for weeks. Can't pay bills on line or see any balances.
