Same here - I have not been able to access anything from JustHost.com for over 6 hours from South Australia.

Sites suach as http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ and http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/ tell me it is up but that doesn't help me.

Exactly the same thing for me in Melbourne, can't access anything that is hosted with Just Host, not even their own website.

Also have checked 3 differebt onbline server testing resources, all of which saying the server is up - I guess those tools are pretty useless.

I have been working on my sites with JustHost by running my VPN and using a server in the USA.

It would seem that the sites are accessable but not by us in Australia.

I spent 45 in a queue waiting to chat to support and finally was told they're working on the problem and things will be fixed ASAP.

ASAP of course could be an hour, a week, a month or a year.

They are absolutely hopeless - I have been attempting to access my sites for well over 12 hours now and if I did not have a VPN account with Cyberghost or similar would not be able to work.

Of course email is another thing - this is not good for business.

Time to move all my sites to a more reliable, Australian hosting company with servers in Australia.

Hey Kym, Thanks for the update and for following up on your previous comment. If their servers respond to requests everywhere but in Australia, I find this situation very strange. Why would it matter where you are trying to access from?

That explains why the server testing resources are giving us "site is up" result, while we are not able to access anything.

I agree with you, it is better to have websites hosted on servers located in Australia, especially if the target market is predominantly Australian.

I have sent an email to JustHost support this morning, but no reply as yet. I am not sure whether they can receive an email from down under, given the circumstances. If you get anywhere with your attempt to get any meaningful answer, please do sharre - it would be appreciated.

Cheers

if you're desperate and don't have a VPN, you can download a trial of Cyberghost (http://www.cyberghostvpn.com/en_au) and hook up to a US Server and use JustHost as normal while you wait for a fix.

Some here (http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/justhost.com.html) say it's a Telstra fault and that they can access via other ISP's and that Telstra have told them they're working on it.

Yawn :-)

Hey Kym,

Whatever it was - Just Host or Telstra - it has been fixed now. I hope it's the end of it. Thanks for the heads up, I really appreciate it.

Cheers

It's good to wake up to good news Senad ;-)

Good luck and take care.

Thanks, same to you.

Kym, it's happening again - at least my end. Can you access your sites on Just Host now?

Senad on

It looks like we cannot access JustHost server from Australia again - same problem, it appears. It just happened to me 20 minutes ago while I was updating page. Can anyone confirm this?

Senad on

Sorry guys, it's back on again. This time outage lasted for about 25 minutes, but connection came back just now. I guess these are "aftershocks"

Hi Senad,

I was working on it most of the day but did have a break, probably just at the right time.

Just as well - I think I would have lost the plot.

At least we can't blame JustHost for the big one the other day - it had to be Telstra as people using other ISP's could get through.

I was at least able to work on my (and my clients) sites VIA VPN and USA Servers to get to JustHost.

Fingers crossed, have a good weekend.
