Can't complete payment with 2 different forms of payment

Was making a purchase over $1400 at register with cashier. My first form of payment was rejected by card swiper. My second form from a totally different account was rejected also. Was there an issue with the card reader at Walmart Appleglen in Fort Wayne Indiana on 9/18/2021.
