Can't see my notifications

I can't see my notifications; I can click the speech bubble icon, and I can see the small profile pictures of people who saved things or left comments on pins, but no text, no "person X saved a pin from your board Y" etcetera. It's been going on for a couple days now, and I just ignored it at first, but it's kind of annoying. Anyone else having this issue?
