Error upon logging in

Have tried to log in to the website to pay my bill several times to no avail.  I called Target RedCard services and was informed that because my account was closed for 10 months, that is probably why I cannot access the website.  This makes no sense because I am still paying off the card.  I ended up paying over the phone.  Ridiculous.

is that the reason they gave you.    Did they make you reset your user name and such.  I keep getting. System currently unavailable.   Each time I log in.   i too am paying off a closed  account.
