Just bought a brand new Samsung blu ray player and Netflix worked on the first day but today we got a code nw-4-8 and aren't able to stream.  Internet connectivity seems to be fine and we can watch YouTube.

Same thing here, went through all kinds of resets, etc. No resolution to problem - got a nw-4-7 code a bunch of times and now a nw-4-8.

Samsung is still trying to "fix" this. They said they will contact me in about 2 days with a solution. Not sure how true that is since I've had that message code for 3 weeks now. The representative said several people have called about this issue already and they are "working" on it.

Some here I just got brand new blu Ray first it worked.

Then few hours later I come back from class it won't work it showa to me code 4-8 I even can't log out .

should I return my DVD?!

Please help.

Jackie on

If you all have brand new dvd players I suggest you return it  I had mine for a few months before this happened. Most stores give you 15 days to return electronics.

Okay! Success!

1. Unplug your TV and Blu-Ray player for about a half hour.

2. Power everything back up and go to the "home" screen of the Samsung Blu-Ray. The screen where you have all the options such as play disc, etc.

3. Hover over the Netflix logo and press and hold the STOP button (white square) of the Blu-Ray remote control. Keep holding it until the screen tells you it has been restored to factory reset.

4. Go through the setup for the player again, establish your network connection status and don't forget to set the correct time zone in the settings!

5. Go back to the home screen and select Netflix as you normally would. Now you have to agree to terms and conditions, etc and log back in to Netflix.

6. You should be good to go at this point. I didn't need to re-enter my router info, it just went to normal operation after I went through the above mentioned steps.

GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY!!!

Thank you Sean for the information!!! I will go home today and try this!!! I hope this works, as Samsung never contacted me back for a resolution to my issue. Let's keep our fingers crossed! :)

This did not work for me I tried it two times with no luck. You happen to have any other ideas?

Charlie on

Thank you so much for this information, as it worked splendidly for me.  This is the second BluRay player Ive purchased, and I really did not like the idea of taking another one back.  I will share this with anyone else who I hear has issues

Barb on

Many many thanks!  It worked.

You nailed it Sean. THANK YOU!

It worked! Sean, YOU DA MAN!!

Thanks Sean, that worked for me!  Not sure why this procedure works while the normal reset procedure through the settings screen did not.  However, at least I know how to do it now.  (I'm assuming it will happen again.)

steve on

Thanks, it worked.  I read a lot of suggestions and to be honest I didn't have much hope on yours, but it worked like a champ.

jackie on

That didn't work for me either. Bummer! :-(

John on

Thank you Sean.  I did your item 3 and then input wi-fi security code and signed in to Netflix again.   I stopped getting the nw 4-7 and nw 4-8 errors and was able to use Netflix.

The problem I had seemed to start after I downloaded the software upgrade.
