Internittent connectivity

I just bought a new A.T. & T. cell phone and can receive calls from some phones. But, when I try to call my A.T.&T cell from my own landline I get the following message:

" You have reached a number that is no longer in service. Please check the number and try again".

No one at A.T.&T. wants to "own" this and an equal number seem to know how to fix this. (Heck , they can't even keep from disconnecting me from the tech support number when I call for assistance)

I surmised it tp be a computer routing error at A.T.and T. (and a Comcast tech, who has seen this happen before, has backed up that assumption).

At this point, I'm really second guessing my move to A.T. & T. Pretty bad for having only been with them for 24 hours.
