Unable to sign in

Can browse the site, reach home page and sign in screen. When attempting to sign in, the process times out after awhile. I've tried signing in from the home page and from other areas around the site. Also has the same behavior when you try to add an item to the watch list. Normal behavior would be to take you to the logon screen. Instead, you wait and wait and then it times out.
