Not able to check out for the past 12 hours or so

I hit "check out" but it just takes me right back to the cart, over and over. I know they've made some changes (many unwelcome) to the site but had not encountered this before. I was really peeved when, for the 2nd time, ALL the dozens of items I had in my "saved for later" section were discarded. Additionally, I often checked previous orders for information about my purchases and could go back several years to see them but that has been eliminated as well. Now I can only see the most recent orders.
