My research suggested it might be due to a recent corrupted email. On my iPhone I went to Settings and deleted all email accounts. I turned off iCloud. I then opened my Comcast email account on my laptop. I knew my iPhone Mail app worked fine until 5/19. On my laptop I deleted all emails from 5/18 thru 5/21. I then added the Comcast email account back in Settings on my iPhone. I opened the Mail app and old messages were loaded through 5/18. The app was working correctly! I then went back to Settings and turned iCloud back on. I immediately did a backup to iCloud so the correct info was stored there. My Mail app is working great so far!!

This worked for me. All I did was delete the account and then re-add it. I didnt do any of the other stuff with icloud etc. Thanks!!
