Dissapeared emails - not resolved

Yesterday I talked to Comcast tech support about approx 20 emails that SUDDENLY vanished from my IN folder. They eventually told me via 2nd tech guy that honestly their were updating their e3mail server and something happened, that their engineers were working on it and that my vanished emails would be appearing in my IN folder soon, maybe a few at at a time or all. Note- they dissapeared on their own and in no other folders just by opening to another page, going back 5 min later to see my emails...and "POOF" approx 20 vanished. Thry essentially accepted blame. BUT - as of tonight, not a single email has reappeared and my email works and worked yesterday. I am nearing the point where I will give up using  comcast email and switch all notifications, accounts, contacts to my 2nd email - a GMAIL account, and also open a GMAIL account for wife. Strange thing is they dissapeared both on Comcast email and Thunderbird, and in the past if I deleted emails from Comcast email, they would not dissapear or be deleted in Thunderbird!  I am not very happy!
