CHASE (Amazon.com rewards) credit card account will not open

My account will not open. Get error message ERROR RXP001. Account recognizes my ID, but not my PASSWORD. Have tried to change PASSWORD two times with no success. Have checked my computer's time and time zone. Both are correct. I am using Microsoft Internet. I was able to make a payment on 08/12/2015, but I have not been able to get back in for the past two days. Also, it appears that I cannot purchase anything from Amazon for the last two days. Are the two connected? Is there there something wrong with my account? Has it been compromised? I have not received any email to this effect. PLEASE respond ASAP with a WORKING solution!
